Happy Thanksgiving/Black Friday/Black Eye Day...

Thanksgiving break has been great. I even lost track of what day it was... how fantastic. We spent Thanksgiving in South Carolina this year b/c we are heading to Mississippi in two weeks for my cousin, Kasey's wedding. This was my third Thanksgiving away from MS. Last year I was in Chicago with my sister, Kayla and the year before I was here with Cody's family. I really love Thanksgiving in MS so it stinks when I miss it. The spread my family has is amazing. Plus, getting to sleep in my bed at home, priceless. (and I love getting to see my family) :)

We didn't get to stay with Cody's family a lot this year because we are housesitting and taking care of my friend's cat, mama kitty. It's my first time keeping her so we were being extra careful.  I also had a work meeting on Saturday at 10 a.m. It was rough getting up. I forgot all about the meeting when I went to bed at 2 a.m.... yep, what a dumb idea staying up so late!

I didn't take a single picture with my camera! First Thanksgiving as a married couple and I am failing at documenting it!

I can't wait for Christmas break and the wedding!  I'm ready to be in MS and see everyone especially my siblings and niece. Haven't seen them since the wedding.

anyhow, hope everyone had a good break! Love!

100 days

This past week, Cody and I celebrated 100 days of marriage bliss. It made me think of how political analyst sum up a president by his 100 days in office. Well, I'm going to sum up our first 100 days of marriage... awesome. Here are some highlights.

1. Washing Dishes and Washing clothes - I got clothes and he got dishes. I don't wash clothes often and he doesn't wash dishes everyday so this didn't work. Now, we wash our own clothes and dishes get done by both of us. We thought it would be easier to break up the tasks but it wasn't. Insignificant to you, but we learned a lesson.
2. Cooking. I am getting pretty good at it and feeling a lot more confident about it. I really want to find his favorite dish. One that he wants when he's sick or on a special occasion. I'm excited to learn more. (I still hate washing dishes)
3. Grocery shopping. We've been couponing and learning how to save money. We have a book of coupons and use www.southernsavers.com and www.couponmom.com. Both are great sites.
4. Budgets. I started being the one with the money, but I can't do it. I am terrible with money. Always have been. I always pay my bills and get things taken care of but it's that extra money that I waste. I'm mature enough to admit I have a shopping habit. We waste a lot of money on eating out though. Hence, the extra cooking lessons I've been giving myself.
5. Lunch. We are so blessed to get to share lunch time together. Cody will come by my office and get me before chapel and we'll go home afterwards and eat lunch together. It's a nice break in the day to get to hang out with him. Working in the same place he goes to school is fantastic.
6. DVR. Praise the Lord for this. I can watch the shows he hates when I'm home alone. Saves us all from arguing. :) I blame it all on Bravo.
7. I love yous. They haven't stopped one bit. We continually say I love you and mean it. We know we don't always "like" each other but we know we always love each other. We've already learned that lesson that no matter what happens our love never changes and fails. God blessed us with a pure love for each other. I respect and honor him and couldn't imagine life without him.
8. Families. We have great families. Great Moms for sure. I am so thankful that his mom loves me and I get along with her so well. I also love that Cody loves my mom and she loves him. We don't have to worry about awkward family get togethers or any uncomfortable dinners. Everyone likes each other and his parents and mine like each other so it's great. I couldn't imagine it any other way.
9. Students. We have grown very close with a few students this semester. I have always loved being about the students and Cody is getting way more involved too. Even when we go to do things, he'll say, do you think .... and ... will want to come?" I love that he wants to hang out with them too.
10. Communication. I think our communication has grown so much. I just know I can tell him anything and when I start to clam up and not tell him something I just blurt it out b/c I never want secrets... even about the little stuff. I want him to know everything so he knows me and how I think. It is such good feeling to have open communication and to have complete confidence in each other.

Life is grand. It may not be perfect but you make it what you want it to be and I choose to be joyful and love the life I have.

Monday = Gym Time

They were extremely dramatic this weekend so fingers crossed they remember they are in college today and we take care of business.

craving

My college room8 was here this weekend. It was great. She has such a great spirit and is always fun. I love her so much and wish she was closer. I always reflect on the song "More than a friend"  by Watermark when I'm with her. She is always encouraging and asks the right questions.

Thursday night we had our regular Tuesday night dinner with everyone since Cora was in town. We let John and Amy join us!

On Friday, we attended CRAVE, which is a recruitment weekend for high school seniors. There was a concert and a speaker. After that we hung out in the Stu-b lobby and played Life. I felt like I was back in college. We went to Cook Out and go milkshakes around midnight... I feel fat just thinking about the weekend. We stayed up until 2 a.m.... and I slept all day on Sunday to make up for my weekend!

On Saturday, my friend Megan invited us to a hocky game in Greenville to see the Road Warriors play. She works for Entercom so we got box seats!

Overall, it was a great weekend. Now, it's rainy and cold. I want to curl up on my couch and sip on some Russian tea.

I hope you all have a great week!

Delights

Things going on in my life right...

1. Being a newlywed. I am so freaking lucky. I have a great husband and best friend. Things have been wonderful. As days pass, I see the changes of being a married couple. The growing comfort and ease... learning what he likes and doesn't like... how best to respond to him and what to he likes to eat. I really love him with all my heart and am just so blessed to have him as my husband.
2. Being a grad student. Next week I plan to start grad school again. I will be getting my Masters in Science in Management. I'm super nervous but I know this is what I need to do. Right now, I am able to get my degree for FREE... yep, FREE. Amen. It should only take me 18 months. If all goes right Cody and I will graduate together. woo!
3. Being overweight. I've been dealing with my weight the past year. I've never ever worried with it like I have the past year. It's not something I've ever been self conscience of until now. I'm not sure what turned what now I'm finally seeing myself as overweight. Now, I know I don't belong on the biggest loser but my BMI is way over what it should be. Even before the wedding I start slipping. Now, I've gained everything back I had lost at the beginning of the year. ek. God has been working on me through this though. I want to have an "I've had enough moment" but it hasn't come yet. It's just like living in sin, until you reach a certain point in yourself you won't change... well I'm ready but something is holding me back. Hard to explain, but I'm excited to see what God is going to do with this weird phase in my life.

Things I'm looking forward to...
1. Tonight... CORA RUTH FLOTTMAN will be here! Yippie!
2. Thanksgiving. [a. the food  b.time off work]
3. Kasey and Mary Ann's wedding
4. Early Christmas in Mississippi
5. Christmas in South Carolina
6. Baby nephew comes in February... so excited to meet him.
7. Going to see Kayla in Chicago in March with Mom and Cody for Mom's birthday!

There's lots going on in the next few months with holidays and such. I'm so excited to be surrounded by family and just hang out it. I wish I could work from home and be able to travel and see everyone more. God is still good and I'm excited about life and all He has planned for the Price family.

balloons over anderson 2010

Tonight we went on a double date with my friend Meghan and Cody's friend Chris.... we set them up a blind date. I do love awkward moments but I tried really hard to make this less awkward than it already was going to be. It was fun though. We stopped by the balloon festival in Anderson. They are so pretty when they are lit up!

After dinner we went to eat at Sullivan's. It's one of my favorite places to go to in Anderson. It's always great. I have a the rack of lamb. yum. I have this love affair with lamb these days. After dinner, we were trying to figure out what to do... there is seriously nothing to do in Anderson.... except bowling and I have the opposite feeling about bowling as I do with lamb. Bowling is the worst thing in the world to me. I just hate going. And so with all that being said, we went to the movies.... bad date idea, but they decided it was ok. They were enjoying each other so we wanted to keep hanging out. THEY (and I stress they) picked Jackass 3D to go see. I seriously gagged three times. Cody thought I was going to vomit on his shoulder. It was funny but oh so gross. Not for the weak.

Overall, great night. Chris got Meg's number so my jobs complete! woo! :)
